Sale Street Bar & Restaurant, Sale Street, Freemans Bay

A four month long journey that began with a completely open brief, the work completed by Powersurge at spacious Auckland restaurant and bar Sale Street was some of their most innovative to date. In the words of Todd Stevenson, “at Sale Street, things were dreamt up, and made”.

The work undertaken was heavily sculptural in nature, including the creation of a huge chandelier using large stainless steel rings and 480 glass champagne flutes. The piece is a major show stopper for the large venue, and began as a simple brief to “supply some lighting” for the space. Other pieces include a clever feat of engineering that saw lights created using knives, forks and spoons welded in woks, but the overall effect must truly be seen to be believed.

“The work we undertook with Powersurge for our Sale Street premises outperformed even our wildest expectations. The pieces designed and manufactured were unique, functional and breathtaking, and are an essential part of our ongoing success.”  LUKE DALLOW, SALE ST
